The rings of history carry the winds and rains of changing seasons, while the footprints of time compose a magnificent anthem of struggle.

Zhengzhou University of Technology was born out of hardship, established through hard work, achieved through struggle, and thrived through innovation. From its earlier days as Zhengzhou branch of Zhengzhou University and Henan Medical School, to being Zhengzhou Day University, then evolving into Zhongzhou University, and finally transforming into Zhengzhou University of Technology, it has exemplified the spirit of Zhengzhou workers who are courageous in their pursuit of success and dedicated to innovation.

In 1980, Zhengzhou branch of Zhengzhou University and Henan Medical School was established.

In 1981, it was renamed as Zhengzhou Day University.

In 1985, it was renamed as Zhongzhou University.

In 2009, Zhengzhou Municipal School of Culture and Arts (established in 1956) merged into Zhongzhou University.

In 2014, Zhengzhou Radio and Television University (established in 1979) merged into Zhongzhou University.

In 2016, it was renamed as Zhengzhou University of Technology.

After more than 40 years of development, Zhengzhou University of Technology has become an applied undergraduate college with a main focus on engineering, multiple-disciplinary comprehensive development, a certain scale of operation, and a certain level of influence in society.
